About Me

My mission: Bridging the Specialized Knowledge Gap

In biomedical science, the faster we innovate, the wider the communication gap becomes. Whether it’s a clinician needing to understand a therapeutic benefit, a patient seeking clarity on a mechanism of action, or an investor evaluating a complex biotech platform—miscommunication is a barrier to progress and relationship building. My mission is to overcome this barrier. I transform high-level biological concepts into clear, bespoke narratives supported by technical visual aids. I don’t believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach: messages need to be tailored for target audiences to ensure that the science remains rigorous and actionable yet accessible regardless of background.

How I got here

I am a PhD in Molecular Oncology with 15 years of experience at the bench. Throughout my career, I’ve published high-impact research and presented at international conferences, but found that interdisciplinary communication – where progress often originates – was lacking. When science is poorly explained, patients receive false hope, researchers miss opportunities for collaboration, and vital work goes unfunded. I spent a decade honing the art of translating complex biology for diverse audiences including patients, clinicians, and cross-disciplinary scientists, and developed a specialized course to train researchers in the art of layperson communication. As part of my mission to bridge the specialized knowledge gap, I co-founded and write for Within Oncology where I demystify cancer by uncovering its cellular basis. Today, I leverage my deep technical background in oncology and cellular biology to help patient advocacy, biotech, and life science organizations tell their stories with precision and impact.
